Harvey Gantz, Sr., 80, of
The Funeral Service will be held at
Margaret E. Flinchbaugh, 88, of Columbia, passed away Saturday, January
16, 2010 at home following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late
Harold W. Flinchbaugh who passed away in 1999. She was born in Columbia,
daughter of the late Jacob K. and Elizabeth Temple Rhoads. She was
a member of Columbia United Methodist Church; a graduate of Columbia
High School, Class of 1940 and was a member of the Four V Club.
She enjoyed sewing and entertaining for family and friends at her home.
She is survived by three sons: Craig W. Flinchbaugh, Columbia; Paul H.
married to Robin A. Flinchbaugh and David J. married to Sheryl A.
Flinchbaugh, all of Wrightsville. Two daughters: Barbara E. married to
George L. Warner and Beth M. married to Edwin H. Culp, Sr., all of
Columbia. Six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-
great granddaughter. Two brothers: Donald T. Rhoads and Jay P. Rhoads,
both of Columbia. She was preceded in death by one daughter: Margaret
Ann "Margie" Wildrick and her twin sister Emma Schum.
The Funeral Service will be held at Columbia United Methodist Church, 510
Walnut Street, Columbia on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at 11:00 A.M.
with Rev. Jeffrey A. Snyder, officiating. Interment in Lebanon Lutheran

Mildred Buchter, 92, Stevens, died at home Saturday, December 19, 2009. Born in Mohnton, Berks County, a daughter of the late Luther & Florence (Rentz) Hornberger, her husband, Alvin H. Buchter, died January 20, 1997. A member and former pianist of Wiest United Methodist Church, Schoeneck, she worked for Leininger Knitting Mills, Hope Hosiery and John F. Martin, and was a former member of the Baron Stiegel Lioness Club. Surviving are children, Eleanore E. (Donald K.) Weaver, Strasburg, PA; David A. (Mary Jane Weinhold) Buchter, Stevens, PA; and Linda L. (D. Scott) Witmer, Ephrata, PA; 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Luther Hornberger, Jr., Sinking Spring, PA. She was predeceased by a great-granddaughter, Nicole Corwin, and a sister, Grace Fisher. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at 2:00 PM from Good Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, Reamstown, with The Rev. J. Thomas Truitt officiating. Miller, of Columbia, wife of Robert G. Miller for more than 63 years, passed
away on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at Susquehanna Valley Nursing and
Rehabilitation Center following a lengthy illness. She was born in Columbia,
daughter of the late Harry and Sadie Jelley and was a member of St. Peter's
Catholic Church and it's Altar Rosary Society. She was a charter member of
Columbia Historical Preservation Society where she served as President for the
past 15 years. A graduate of Columbia High School, Class of 1943, Florence
played the violin in several of the school's musical groups. She continued as a
violinist in the former Columbia Symphony Orchestra for a few years until it was
forced to disband when fire destroyed the Columbia Opera House and the Orchestra
lost musical instruments and it's "library" of music. Older Columbians recall
her as the clerk in the Fred Kirstein Stationary Store on Locust Street for many
years. She was a Girl Scout Leader; a former member of the Columbia Shade Tree
Commission; was active in planning activities for Columbia's Bicentennial
Celebration and served for many years on the Lancaster County Redevelopment
Commission, Region 1.
Surviving in addition to her husband, one daughter: Cynthia wife of Jeffrey
Forster, New Milford, NJ. Two granddaughters: Meredith Forster and Hilary
Forster, both of Alexandria, VA. Several nieces and nephews. The last of her
immediate family, she was preceded in death by four sisters: Marion Stehman;
Pauline Ott; Verdie Nitroy and Minerva Harden.
The Mass of the Rite of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter's
Catholic Church, 121 South Second Street, Columbia, on Monday, November 16, 2009
at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Dominic M. DiBiccaro, as celebrant. Rite of Committal and

Deborah Anne Vandegrift, 57, of Quarryville, PA, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2009, after a long illness with cancer, which she fought with all she had. She was the wife of William Scott Vandegrift. They had celebrated 26 years of marriage. She was born in Pottstown, daughter of Helen Rogowski of Quarryville, and the late Francis Rogowski. Deborah was a 1970 graduate of Nativity High School which was in St Stephen’s Parish. She graduated in 1976 from Millersville University. Deborah started her teaching career in a one room school with Lampeter-Strasburg School District. She then taught Fourth Grade at LS for 12 years. Her teaching continued at Noah’s Ark Nursery School, Quarryville, and started the Childtime Daycare Center for the Coatesville VA Hospital. Presently she was teaching, and librarian at Sacred Heart School, Oxford, PA She was a member of Kappa Delta Phi, and Beta Sigma Phi Sororities. Deborah had been involved with St Catherine of Sienna Parish and Youth Ministry, and Sacred Heart School Ministry. She enjoyed many activities through her children, their friends, and families as well. In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by daughters; Amy, and Lea Marie Vandegrift , son; Timothy Scott Vandegrift , brother; Stephen Rogowski sister; Marianne Pasho , sister; Annette Trautman , brother; Anthony Rogowski , brother; John Rogowski, Mother - in –law; Ethel Vandegrift. She was predeceased by her father Francis Rogowski, and father-in-law William Vandegrift. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at The Church of the Sacred Heart, 203 Church Road, Oxford, Pa, on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. with Reverend Gregory Hamill as celebrant. Patrick Joseph Werhel, 49, of Quarryville, PA, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in his sleep from natural causes on Monday, November 16, 2009, at his home. He was the loving husband of Theresa Jones Werhel, whom he married April 16, 1983. He was born in Lancaster, son of Richard A. and Catherine Faltine Werhel of Lititz. He was a 1978 graduate of Conestoga Valley High School and Brownstown Vo-Tech. Patrick was employed for 30 years at Alcoa Mill Products, Lancaster. He enjoyed camping, being with friends and family, and was an avid Penn State football fan. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church, Quarryville, and was a Knight of Columbus. In addition to his wife Theresa, and his parents, he is survived by 2 son’s; Patrick Joseph, Jr. companion of Megan Strubel of New Providence, Tyler William Werhel of Robinson, PA, 3 brother’s; Richard, Jr husband of Elizabeth of Danville, CA, Douglas, husband of Crystal of Holtwood, John companion of Tracy of Burgettstown, PA, and numerous nieces and nephews. Aldus J. “Buddy” Herr
Aldus J. “Buddy” Herr, age 88, of Martic Heights Drive, Holtwood died Thursday evening at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community. He was the husband of the late Dorothy V. Kirsch Herr who died April 14, 1998. Aldus was born in Martic Township a son of the late Walter Raymond and Mabel Martha Erb Herr. A welder by trade he owned and operated his own auto body shop. Buddy was a Ford enthusiast and was locally known for driving around in his big red Ford tow truck. Aldus was a veteran of the US Army serving as a Private First Class during WWII. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart while in combat in San Stefand, Sicily during the Middle Eastern Theatre Campaign. He was a lifetime member of AMVETS Post #19. He is survived by a daughter Barbara A. Herr and a son Dennis J. married to Suzanne Herr both of Holtwood; two granddaughters Katherine married to Daniel Karlow and Elizabeth Herr; and two great grandchildren Aidan and Abigail. Atwell, age 101, formerly of Coatesville died Thursday morning at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community where she resided since 2003. She was the widow of D. Edward Atwell who died in 1972. Bea was born in Quarryville a daughter of the late Howard B. and Elsie P. Rineer LeFevre. She was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, Quarryville and a former member of Olivet United Methodist Church in Coatesville. Bea received her nurses training from WYCA Practical Nurses Association and interned at the Odd Fellows Hospital in Elizabethtown. She remained active in the Nurses Association throughout her career. She made her living as a full-time home care nurse until taking a position as an office nurse with Dr, Robert Erdman, a podiatrist in Coatesville, for 25 years. She then returned to home health care nursing. She retired in 1989 at the age of 81. Bea was artistic and enjoyed knitting and all kinds of needlework along with being a great baker of cookies and cakes. She is survived by a sister Vivien L. Groff of Quarryville; a niece Cinda J. married to Charles “Cork” Stoner; and a nephew, Gregory married to Roula Groff of Quarryville. George F. Eager, age 87, of 1223 River Road, Quarryville died Thursday afternoon at Golden Living Center in Lancaster. George was the widower of Dorothy Lefever Eager who died January 9, 1984. He was born in Providence Township a son of the late George A. and Myrtle Shissler Eager. A lifelong farmer, he also was self employed as a cattle hauler. He was a member of New Providence Church of God. Surviving him are a son, George F. Jr. married to Marie Mowrer Eager of Drumore; 5 grandsons; 6 great grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren; a sister Dorothy wife of Joe Leroy Hess of New Providence; and a brother Donald Richard married to Irene Eager of Quarryville. Jean Louise Washburn Weigand, 81, died peacefully on Sunday, October 18, 2009 in Oxford, PA. Jean was born January 21, 1928 in Springfield, MA, and was the daughter of Everett L. and Anne Louise (Davis) Washburn. Jean was preceded in death by her brother Dave and her sister Trish.Jean grew up in Westerly, Rhode Island and in Wayne, PA. She graduated from Radnor High School, as well as Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA. Jean is survived by her husband George (of Brackney, PA and Sebastian, FL), her sons Frank of Quarryville, PA and Davis of Burlington, VT; her daughter Anne of Poultney, VT; and her 4 grandchildren Ryan, Noah, Andy, and Tess.The interment of Jean L. Marian S. Glick, 95, formerly of Millersville passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at Luther Acres Manor. She was the wife Willis W. Glick with whom she celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary on April 11, 2009. She was born in Creswell daughter of the late Milton D. and Elma E. Shuman Frey. She was a cook at the Mennonite Home and Millersville University before her retirement in 1975. She was a member of Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church of Creswell where she taught Sunday School, was the organist and pianist for 50 years; a member of the Missionary Society; Creswell Sewing Circle; Farm Women Society #12; and Lancaster WCTU. Surviving in addition to her husband, one granddaughter: Sandra wife of D. Kurt Hendershott, Willow Street. One grandson: Gregory husband of Darla Kuhns, Lancaster. Former granddaughter-in-law: Kathy A. Kuhns, Lititz. Three great-grandchildren. Two great-great grandchildren and four step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons: Carl N. Dorothy E. (Bleacher) Germeyer, 77, of Columbia, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at the Hospice Center in Mount Joy. She was the daughter of the late William and Ida E. Shuman. She attended Manor Church. She enjoyed cooking, reading a good book and spending time with her family. She is survived by her children: David married to Rose Germeyer, Lancaster; Jeffrey married to Carol Germeyer, Lancaster; and Gwendolyn married to Scott Keebler, Columbia. Eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In 1991 he retired from 30 years of missionary service in Japan and in 1996 moved to Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community. (QPRC) He volunteered at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania and Historic Lancaster Walking Tour. He was honored as the 2008 Alumnus of the Year by Lancaster Bible College and at QPRC is known as the "train man" because of his model trains and village on permanent display. Clair Flickinger, 87, Ephrata, died Sunday, October 4, 2009, in Ephrata Community Hospital. Born in East Earl Township, a son of the late William and Orlean (Showalter) Flickinger, he was the husband of Mary E. (Miller) Flickinger for 44 years on October 2nd. A 1940 Terre Hill High School graduate, he was a Navy veteran of World War II. A member, 22 year treasurer and Sunday school teacher of St. Paul’s Evangelical Congregational Church, Reamstown, Clair was an avid quaits player, rose gardener and Phillies and Giants fan. Retiring from Valley Protein, formerly Messner Brothers, Terre Hill, after 49 years, he worked for Ritter Tours and Elite Coach, Ephrata, and last for Martin Country Market, Ephrata. Also surviving are daughters, Audrey M. (Robert) Ritter, Reamstown; and Barbara L. (Barton) Laukhuff, New Holland; 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy (Fred) Styer, Terre Hill; and Leona (Thomas) Pavlakis, Lancaster; and a brother, Willis (Irene Stafford) Flickinger, Ephrata. He was predeceased by sisters, Elva Sensenig and Mary Jane Stafford, and brothers, Marvin and Alvin Flickinger.

Dorothy W. Allen, 77, of 448 Groffdale Rd., Quarryville, PA, died on Thursday, July 23, 2009, at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mt. Joy. She was the wife of Marshall P. Allen. They had celebrated 55 years of marriage.
Dorothy was a nurse, working in different healthcare facilities in Chester and Lancaster Counties.
She had been a member of Tanglewood Golf Club where she was an avid golfer.
She was born in Chester Co., daughter of the late Sheridan and Katherine Rothemal Watkins.
She is survived by her husband Marshall P. of Quarryville, PA, her son Chuck, husband of Bobbi Allen of Ashburn, VA, grandchildren; Bradley and Kevin Allen , great-grandson; Joshua Allen , and her brother Palmer Watkins of Catonsville, MD. She was predeceased by her sister Betty Hastings.

William H. Dommell, Jr., 91, of White Oak Road, Strasburg, PA, died on Saturday, August 22, 2009, at Lancaster General Hospital. He was the husband of Roselyn Carrigan Dommell. They had celebrated 60 years of marriage.
William had retired after 45 years in the finishing department with the former Armstrong Cork Co., Lancaster.
He was a lifelong member of Zion U.C.C., Strasburg.
William was a member of F. &A.M. #156, Quarryville, and Harrisburg Consistory. He was also a charter member of the former Strasburg V.F.W. William had served his country in the US Army, Battery B, 70th Coast Aux. serving in the Pacific Theater.
He was born in Lancaster, son of the late William and Anna Ressel Dommel.
In addition to his wife he is survived by nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister; Letitia Bable.

Helen Frances “Toots” Bechtold Lefever, age 79, formerly of White Oak Road, Strasburg, died Friday evening at the Mennonite Home where she resided for the past 4 years. She was the widow of Robert G. “Pork” Lefever who died December 1, 1995. Toots was born on April 10, 1930 in West Willow, a daughter of the late Henry S. and Viola Bechtold. She was a 50+ member of Zion United Church of Christ, Strasburg and a Hospice of Lancaster County volunteer. Helen had been employed as a secretary for Armstrong Co., a teller for Farmer’s First Bank in Quarryville and a teller for Bank of Lancaster County at the Strasburg and Willow Street offices. She was a 1948 graduate of Penn Manor High School. Her enjoyments included her family, cooking, crafts, jig-saw puzzles, gardening, bowling, fishing, bird watching, and many other outdoor activities. She is survived by three daughters, Debra J. wife of Blake E. Nicholson of Exton, Vickie L. wife of Daniel Allwine of Ephrata, Linda M. Stymiest of Waynesboro; seven grandchildren and spouses; five sisters, Anna Mary Bechtold of Lancaster, Verna Dagen of Carlisle, Henrietta Brooks of Lititz, Arlene Kirchner of Manheim, Evelyn wife of Paul R. Miller, Sr. of Lancaster; and a half brother, Henry F. Bechtold of New Providence. Helen’s family wishes to thank the staff at the Mennonite Home for the excellent care given to their mother. A. Marvin Paxson, 87, of Quarryville, PA, died on Monday, September 21, 2009, at Lancaster General Hospital. He was the husband of Virginia Webster Paxson. They had celebrated 63 years of marriage. After working with his father on the family farm, Marvin had worked at Lukens Steel Co., Trojan Boat Co., and Penn Dairies. He retired from Plumber and Pipefitters, Local 520. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. He was also a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, Quarryville, and attended Union Presbyterian Church, Kirkwood. Olive L. Wingenroth, 91, Reamstown, died Sept. 15, 2009, in Ephrata Hospital. Born in East Cocalico Twp., a daughter of the late William L. and Stella H. (Lied) Shober, her husband, Carl E. “Wingy” Wingenroth, died Nov. 17, 1993. A 1935 graduate of East Cocalico Vocation School, Olive was a longtime Sunday school teacher at Salem UCC, Reamstown, and a Brownie leader. Retiring in 1980, she was a 30 year cafeteria worker at East Cocalico High School and later Reamstown Elementary School. Surviving is a daughter, Sandra L. (Edward G.) Fasnacht, Akron; son, Gerald S. Wingenroth, East Cocalico Twp.; granddaughters, Beth A. (Jeff) Clifford, Huntington Beach, CA; and Deidre A. Avery Scott Wood, 6, Reinholds, better known to family and friends as “Bear” or “Lil’ Man”, moved on to be with Jesus on Sept. 8, 2009, at 5:47 AM in Hershey Medical Center. A Denver Elementary 1st grader, Avery loved life and lived it with INTENSE FEROCITY! He love playing video games, wrestling and swimming with his brothers (who love him very deeply and will miss him very much). A true superhero to his family, friends and 3 ‘nuther’ families whose children he helped save by organ donation. Mercy Hospital at Vitas Hospice in Darby, Pa. Mr. Hohneck was
born in Philadelphia a son of the late George A. and Jennie
Hohneck. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic
Church where he served as a greeter. He had been employed at
Darrenkampts Market in Willow Valley, PA. He was a member of
Catholic Social Services Life Sharing Program. He enjoyed
animals, sports, especially Philadelphia teams, swimming,
camping and fishing. Mr. Hohneck is survived by his Life Sharing

Repsch., and their children. Mr. Hohneck is also survived by a

William “Rudy” Brossman, 91, East Earl, died following a brief illness at home August 20, 2009, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Red Run, a son of the late John V. and Katie (Hainely) Brossman, his wife of 66 years, Cherrylynn M. (Dubson) Brossman, died April 17. “Rudy” was a World War II Marine Corps veteran and received a purple heart for the battle at Iwo Jima. A member of Muddy Creek Lutheran Church, he enjoyed hunting, was a board member of The Ann Brossman Sweigart Charitable Foundation, a member of the Adamstown VFW and the Ephrata American Legion. He actively owned and operated Valley Shoppe Hats & Antiques, East Earl, for 42 years, was a Stoudt’s Black Angus Antique Mall standholder for 35 years and worked at Bollman Hat Company, Adamstown.

Grace Ann Chase, 89, of Quarryville, Pa, passed away Monday, July 20, 2009 at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community. She was the wife of G. Seldon “Ted” Chase. They had celebrated 64 years of marriage. Grace was born in Quarryville, daughter of the late John Earl and Verna Keen Newswanger. Grace was a teacher, and began teaching in the Kirkwood School. Two years later she moved to the Hope School where she taught 1st through 8th grades, including some of the first Amish children in the area. She enjoyed sewing, making many of her own clothes. She enjoyed going to auctions with her father J. Earl Newswanger and her cousin Helen Shaub. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband and her friend Reba Rineer.
Grace had been an active member of the Southern Lancaster County Historical Society and belonged to Farm Women # 11. She was also active in the Solanco Fair Association in its early years, helping with the Fair’s annual Baby Parade.
Most important to her was her church; St Paul’s Church in Quarryville, where she was a lifelong member. She sang in the church choir, taught adult Sunday school classes and was involved in other ministries in the church.
Grace is survived by her husband, her son; John Earl Chase, husband of Patricia of Quarryville, and 2 grandchildren; Sara and Christine Chase.

Robert Earl Patterson, 79, of Cochranville, PA died at Temple Lung Center after a six week illness. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth Logan with whom he shared 27 years of marriage. Born in Malvern, P A he was the son of the late Jesse and Elouisa Parke Patterson.
Robert farmed the Great Valley for over 60 years and was proud of his beautiful dairy cows. In 1983 he moved to Washington County and in 1986 to Lancaster County where he later served as Quarryville Borough Council member and then president before moving back to Chester County in Cochranville.
Robert is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, his son; Jeffrey Patterson, of Glenmore, his daughter; Karen Dixon, of West Chester, his granddaughters; Jessica Prado and Erin Dixon, his twin great-granddaughters Allison and Skylar Dixon and his dear friend David North Jordan. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard Patterson.

Lester H. Ranck, age 85, of 609 Center Road, Quarryville died Friday morning at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mount Joy. He and his wife Mary R. Todd Ranck celebrated 64 years of marriage this past March. Lester was born in Paradise Township, a son of the late Edwin and M. Helen Hershey Ranck. A lifelong farmer in East Drumore Township, he also had worked for Vintage Sales Stables in his younger years. He was a member of Mechanic Grove Mennonite Church and had served on the East Drumore Township Planning Commission. Lester enjoyed the outdoors, mainly fishing and hunting and belonged to the June Hollow Deer Camp in McKean County. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Jay L. Ranck of Peach Bottom, Judy L. married to James Thomas of New Providence, Ronald L. married to Bonita Nissley Ranck of Leola, Randall L. married to Patricia Groff Ranck of Lancaster; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and two brothers, Donald Ranck and Frederick Ranck. LeRoy C. Repsch, age 75, of 990 Lancaster Pike, Quarryville, PA and formerly of Philadelphia, died Sunday afternoon at Lancaster General Hospital. Mr. Repsch was born in Philadelphia a son of the late Walter and Lillie May Repsch. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church where he served as a greeter and participated with Lancaster Generations, exercise and older Day Care. He had been employed in garage maintenance for Wenger’s Pontiac at the Buck. He enjoyed puzzles, sports especially Philadelphia teams, swimming, camping, fishing, and listening to country music. Wilbur A. R. Siddons, 94, died on Saturday, June 20, 2009, at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community where he resided since 1991. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth Winger Siddons who died in 2008. Reverend Siddons was the founding pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Lancaster. He was born in Rochester, NY, son of the late Henry and Mable Lockhart Siddons. Surviving are 2 sons; David and his wife Mary Jane of Lancaster, Dr. Phillip and his wife Linda of Buffalo, NY, 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren. The Funeral Service will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2151 Oregon Pike, Lancaster, Pa 17601, on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. with Dr Michael Rogers officiating. Geraldine M. “Gerry” Clancy, 55, Denver, died June 26, 2009, at home following a courageous 2 ½ year battle with cancer. Born in Norristown, a daughter of Lena M. (Gianni) Sirchio, Conshohocken, and the late Stephen A. Sirchio, Jr., she was the wife of Jeffrey M. Clancy for 35 years. A member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Ephrata, she was a 1971 Arch Bishop Kennedy High School, Conshohocken, and last worked for LamTech, Ephrata. Sheila R. Moyer, 37, Ephrata, died June 21, 2009, in Lancaster General Hospital as a result of an auto accident. Born in Ephrata, a daughter of Carol L. (Wenrich) Moyer, companion of Barry Stapleton, Ephrata, and Roy A. Moyer, and step-mother, Edith (Becker) Moyer, Shillington, and was the 21 year companion of Steven W. Moore, with whom she resided. A 1989 Cocalico High School graduate, she was employed by Lancaster Laboratories, Leola, and Scooters, Lititz. Previously, she worked at Pepperidge Farms and Bollman Hat Company. Sheila was a NASCAR fan, loved traveling, camping, crocheting, trips to the beach, vegetable gardening and her dogs, Brennan, Acacia and Turbo. Also surviving: daughters, Desiree M. Bradley M. Sheaffer, 58, Bowmansville, died at home June 14, 2009. A son of the late Randolph W. and Elsie Mae (Musser) Sheaffer, he was the companion and husband of Patricia A. (Bender) Sheaffer for 32 years. A member of Ephrata Baptist Church, he was employed for 35 years by Kalas Manufacturing, Denver. Bradley enjoyed sports, hunting, fishing, old cars, NASCAR, was a Mark Martin fan and cherished time with his family. Also surviving: daughters, Robin K. (Ken) Boyer, Ephrata; Kandi S. Thomas W. Gregory, 68, Denver, went to meet The Lord June 10, 2009, in Mt. Joy Hospice Center. Born in West Chester, the son of the late William T. and Clara P. (Chambers) Gregory, he was the husband of Elizabeth A. (Gross) Gregory for 46 years. A 1959 Conestoga High School graduate, he attended the University of Hawaii, was a Vietnam Navy and Army veteran, and was a member of Cocalico Community Chapel, Denver. The founder of B&G Paper, he also enjoyed working in the food service industry. Tom played brass instruments with Reilley Raiders Drum & Bugle Corp, having performed for the president at the White House. Also surviving: sons, Mark T. (Valerie) Gregory, East Earl; Jason L. (Onzelle) Gregory, Honeybrook; and Rev. Charles A. (fiancé of Julie) Gregory, Denver; daughter, Bethany L. (Scot) Shrom, Lititz; and 6 grandchildren. Joyce E. Stover, 63, Bowmansville, died June 3, 2009, in Denver Nursing Home, Stevens, where she resided the past 4 years. Born in Red Run, a daughter of the late Harry M. and Florence S. (Heckman) Busser, she was the wife of Kenneth E. Stover for 46 years. A homemaker and member of Muddy Creek Lutheran Church, Swartzville, she enjoyed reading, crocheting, camping and riding motorcycle in earlier years. Also surviving are sons, Frederick A. (Sandra Horning) Stover, Stevens; Jeffrey S. (Lisa Recay) Stover; and Stephen M. (Melissa Galbreath) Stover, both of Denver; daughter, Stephanie S. Kathryn Zong, 95, Stevens, died June 3, 2009, in Ephrata Community Hospital. Born in Hopeland, a daughter of the late Henry and Fannie (Weit) Haas, her husband James E. Zong, died February 13, 1982. A member of Hopeland United Methodist Church, Kathryn’s zest for life was an inspiration for all who knew her. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially flower gardening, cooking, crocheting, loving her Lord and family and was a true lady with a sense of humor. Surviving is a daughter, Patricia A. Wolf, Stevens; grandson, Brad Wolf, Ephrata; granddaughter, Lori (Tim) Patterson, Stevens; and great-grandchildren, Drew, Cole, Ava & Taylor. Her son, James Henry Zong, died March 4, 2009. Claire M. Zuchero, 83, Reinholds, Lancaster County, formerly of Levittown, died May 31, 2009, in Ephrata Community Hospital. Born in Charlotte, NC, a daughter of the late Robert Huntington and J. Jane (Plummer) Rice, her 1st husband, William C. Hoida, and 2nd husband, Michael Zuchero, both died in 1996. Claire was a kind and loving person, putting others before herself. She was an avid reader, a Willie Nelson fan, and enjoyed knitting and crossword puzzles. Also surviving are daughters, Claire J.
